Shadow Hill Sea Star "Rollin" a playful 13" 10 month old sheltie who was adopted by Alice in GA

Hi Helen-

Here are the photos. Hope that you enjoy them. Some are out in his newly fenced in yard - which he seems to enjoy. One is in the kitchen with his favorite and indestructible toy. We took him with us to visit some friends a few weeks ago who have a 6 month old female tea cup yorkie. She is only 2 1/2 pounds and you should have seen how good he was with her - they played and played and had us all laughing. He is doing great! Hope all is going well for you and your family and your animals. I included photos of Rollin at 2 years old.
Take care,
Alice (photos below)

"Minuet" an adorable Sheltie pup out of Piper by Tempo that was sold to Barb in OH. She was renamed Millie by her new "mom"

She’s really a great, smart puppy. She’s the prettiest little thing – prances proudly down the sidewalk. We get stopped all the time with people delighted by her.

Barb (photo below)

She is the best dog. Smart smart smart, happy, eager to please, spunky… she’s a great companion for me. She's turned into a beautiful dog – every one in the neighborhood comments on her. They even comment on how she “prances” down the street, like she’s a little queen.

"Tango" an adorable Sheltie pup out of Piper by Tempo that was sold to a Paige in SC.

Hi,
Tango is doing very well. He adapted very quickly and gets along well with the children. I included a photo. Tango seems happy here and is starting to bark to go outside and sit, lie down, crawl, and roll over on command. Morgan (our sheltie) is also adapting. He's not much for playing anymore; however, Tango has found lots of rope toys and balls to enjoy instead of Morgan.

Paige

Hi,
Tango is doing well. He's a very sweet, obedient little fellow! Sadly, we lost Morgan (at age 15) last August. I think Tango really missed him. The day he passed away, Tango came and sat beside me with his head in my lap. He was still for about 30 minutes - a rarity in Sheltie's, as you know. He loves playing in the yard with the girls but when they climb up the slide or get in their tree house it drives him nuts. I'm attaching some of our Christmas pictures - Tango was better for the photographer than the kids!
Take care,
Paige(photos below)

FDCH Sprightly's She's So Fly RN RA FD FDX CGC "Viola" is an adorable Sheltie pup out of Piper by Tempo that was sold to a Erin as a flyball/agility/rally dog in NC.

Viola (now Fly) is doing very well. Everyone on the team loves her and thinks she will turn out to be an awesome flyball dog. She has grown a bit I think she is nearing 6.5 lbs now. She gets alone with the other dogs real well, she has no reserves about them being much bigger then her. She is just what i wanted being very high energy, focused and toy motivated. So far she has learned sit, down and is learning come, paw and "look". She is signed up to start obedience school on the 8th and I am hoping that she will be at the head of her class. She has also been working on "tugging", playing with a ball and doing recalls, all of which she just loves. We will start more formal training for flyball when she is 4 mo. She did great traveling in the car last weekend to the tournament and had no problems at the hotel and wasn't shy at all at the tournament site, she is very outgoing. She will be heading to another tournament this weekend with me, so she will be a well traveled girl. Her one ear is starting to go perk and the other is staying tipped, not sure what they will decide to do in the end. I will send you some pictures of her when I get a chance to take some as well as updates in her training. She is a great little girl and I thank you for turning me on to her! - Erin

Hi Helen - Just wanted to give up some pictures and updates on Fly/Viola. She is doing great in her puppy class, she is one of the top learners. She is also doing well with her flyball training, she is tugging well although she has started to want to chase a little, but what can you expect from a puppy/sheltie! After she finishes puppy class I hope to get her CGC certified and start some agility training on her also. She does wonderful around all the dogs, she thinks she is a big dog holding her own very well. She also went on the boat the other day, she likes riding along but not so much a fan of the water! She is about 10 lbs now and about 11 inches. I will continue to give you updates and pictures of her! - Erin (photos below)

4 months old

Hi Helen -
Just wanted to let you know how Fly is doing. She is doing great and has graduated her puppy class with honors. She starts her next obiedence class tonight and im hoping to get her CGC certified soon. She is doing well in her flyball training, tuggin well. We just started to introduce her to the box and she was a bit shy but is getting much more confident, she is also doing puppy jumps in a row like a pro. She still does get distracted with others running around her, but I figure this will just take time and age to fix. She went in for her last vaccine on Monday and was 12.5 lbs and is about 13 inches. I am planning on getting her spayed towards the end of July so she will be fully healed when I take her to a tournament the second weekend of August.
Thanks!
Erin and Fly (photo below)

7 months old

Hi Helen - Just wanted to pop in and give you an update on Fly with some pictures. They aren't the best, our camera stinks. She is doing great, she is a little taller then the one you have, by the way I love looking at the updates on the site, she is just over 14 inches unoffically measured, would love to be able to get her to measure under 14. At last weight she was 13.5 lbs. She is just tall and leggy. But she is in her CGC class right now and doing very well. She is also doing well in flyball, she has learned the box and is doing her puppy jumps well. Everyone is very excited to get her running as they think she is going to be very fast and has the possibilty to be one of the fastest shelties in the region, if we can only get her herding drive under control! She loves to herd, I wish there were places around here closer for her to do it. After she graduates from the CGC class I am planning on starting her in agility as well. So far I have been very happy with her, she is a great little dog, just want i wanted, crazy and loving! Are you breeding her sister? I would love to know when you may have a litter, if it is at a time when I have moved out (perhaps a second litter) I have been considering another sheltie. - Erin(photos below)

1 year old

Hi Helen - I was looking on your website and saw that Melody got her CGC this weekend. I wanted to let you know that Fly also received hers about two weeks ago, such smart little girls! Fly is doing great with her flyball training. She will be starting a beginning to competition obiedence class this weekend and I am playing on starting agility after that. Lots of plans for her! I will be sure to send you some more picture of her at flyball when I get them!

- Erin

When we came in on Friday night someone told me that someone on their team had just adopted her father, so of course we had to go and visit him. It was nice to see him in person since I had only ever seen him in pictures. I am excited that they will be trying flyball with him so that we can continue to see him. Fly did great in her first warm-up spot at a tournament, Friday is the big day were she goes for her first novice rally trial. I am hoping to get her title by the end of march, we will see how she can do lol, she is a little ADD sometimes. BUut I really can't believe how smart she is. I also am ordering some updated pics that I will have to send down. - Erin

Hi Helen -
Just wanted to give you an update on how Fly did at her first rally trial. We went last friday to Winston-Salem for her to compete. She did very well. She tied for 1st place and ended up in 2nd due to the time as a tie breaker (she felt the need to stop and pause for some pictuers lol) but she got a 96+ as we had to redo one exercise and got penalized for one tight leash. She is going to go to the fairgrounds at the end of the month for 2 days to hopefully get the second and third leg and obtain her RN title. She is just so smart. When I had her in the ring my trainer said everyone was trying to look up her name as they thought she was just the cutest little thing. I haven't gotten the pictures yet but when I do I will send them on over through the e-mail.

- Erin

Can you go ahead and put me on the waitlist for a puppy? I would prefer the male, but what I am really looking for is one to be a good flyball/agility prospect so the one that shows most sports home quality I would like, I know you will not be able to tell that until they are older and acutally playing lol. But I would like to get my name on the list so I can get a puppy suited to my needs. I have just been so happy with Fly I would love to have one out of her lines! Oh yah, and Fly got her second leg in rally the past weekend, now she just has one more to go for her RN title. We have also started doing jumps and she really loves it, I think she will be great in agility like her mom and sister.

- Erin

Oh yes she can jump. She easily leaps into the crate in the car which is 3 feet off the ground! They have little springs in their legs.

Hi Helen - Thought you might like to see some pictures of the girls. We went to a pool party the other day, Fly has become quite the little swimmer! Sprite just likes to sit on the raft and watch. They are both doing great. Sprite seems to be staying small, probably around 9-10 lbs right now and around 12.5 inches or so. - Erin (photos below)

Hi Helen - Just thought I would let you know that Fly received her RN title this weekend and we are now moving on to the advanced level. She is such a good little girl. At the same trial im going to go ahead and enter Sprite in the novice and start working on her, she is currently in a CGC class now. - Erin

They are doing great! Fly is really finally starting to mature and Sprite is still all puppy. Sprite is very loveable and loves to be cuddled. Fly is still very independent. Fly just recently started taking agility classes and she is doing great in them already. She even has her own website for the training facility. http://tcteams.doodlekit.com/home/fly_and_erin Yes, she did earn her RA back in Feb, working towards our RE now, just haven't had any rally trials around here lately. She has also now earned her FD, FDX and FDCH in flyball with a fastest time of 5.2 so far (she has only run part-time in 3 tournaments). Here is a youtube video of her running. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yky943W9Ips&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Efacebook%2Ecom%2Fhome%2Ephp%3F&feature=player_embedded I will definately keep you updated on their progress. They are such great dogs and I get lots of compliments on them all the time. They are just what I wanted! - Erin
Photos below

Hi Helen, The girls a doing great. Fly is now running flyball full time and just received her FDCH-Gold title (2,500 pts). Sprite has 3 boxes to the jump and 3 jumps back with ball in mouth so she should be running really soon, im very excited! Fly is now in her agility 3 class, she is doing great, she working on weaves and the teeter. Sprite will be starting agility 1 in sept. They both have a rally trial over labor day. Im hoping to get Sprite's 3rd leg in novice and 1 leg in advanced, Fly is only signed up for one day so im hoping to get 1 leg in her excellent. I'll try to send some more photo updates soon for you! - Erin

Fly at the Can/Am Nationals

Hi Helen - Thought I would give you another update on the girls. We went to a herding instinct test this weekend with the flyball team. They girls started out on sheep. They both showed interest right away and moved them well until the sheep realized how small they were and didn't respect them anymore! The girls both lost interest after that. He said he saw more instinct on the sheep with Sprite which surprised me because she is the more timid of the two, but Fly did get herself right in with the sheep and wasn't afraid either. After that we let them play on the pond with the ducks and they both seemed to really enjoy the ducks. So he caught a couple and put them in the ring. Both the girls loved the ducks. Sprite was a little rowdy for them as she wanted to run more at them and would scatter them some but Fly did awesome and walked quietly behind the ducks and showed alot of promise. The guy who we went to has a herding championship title on his sheltie and loves the breed so he is very excited to work with them. He is about an hour away so I think I might try to go up a couple times a month to see him and work. He said there is a trial in April so we might try to shoot for that. I have photos and videos of the girls. So far only Fly's is posted. Once I get more I will send them too you!

Sprightly Murphy's Law "Rondo" a male sheltie pup out of Piper by Tempo who sold to Karen in FL

Hi Helen, Well, that was easy picking him up and he went to the bathroom in the grass like a good boy. We went to the pet store first to pick up more things and then to my house. He was so calm at the pet , and of course everybody wanted to pet him. We spent the last couple of hours in the yard running and running and running. I got him all kinds of toys and treats. He has eaten and had some water and pooped. He seems very happy. The cat's on the other hand are very curious as to what the heck that new thing is. So all is well so far. I bought him a soft sherpa to sleep in with some soft pads. If any questions come up, i will email you. Thanks again, Karen

Hi Helen, Just wanted to let you know that Murphy or Murf (We renamed him), is doing great. He is such a good puppy. He has learned the command “lay down” very well. He has been coming to work with me and is really good around people, not timid at all. He plays a little, then sleeps in his dog bed at the office and doesn’t whine or bark. He only barks when he’s playing. We are still working on the potty training, but he is doing pretty well on that too. Amazing how many times they can go! He sleeps in his crate at night next to our bed and doesn’t whine until he sees my feet come down off the bed. My Husband just can’t believe what a great dog he is. I told him about how wonderfully behaved and intelligent Shelties were, but he didn’t believe me until now. He had the stereotype that all small dogs barked constantly, peed all over when people came around and were timid. So we are very happy. P.S. I have found a wonderful organic pet food store and I am getting a recommendation for a new vet from the owner this evening after work. Thanks again, Karen

Hi Helen,
He is wonderful. People just love him and can’t believe how well behaved and quiet he is. He’s not whiny or a barker, just when he’s playing or defending us. I have trained him to voice command most of the time, unless his girlfriend is out next door, then I become second fiddle. He gets along with my two cats as well and comes to the office with me on the three days a week that I am there, so all the delivery men and employees give him lot’s of attention too. He is happiest though, when we are at our cabin in North Carolina. We go up there about once a month for a week and he just loves the coolness of the mountains and running up and down them every day. He hikes for hours with us in the snow or the rain and in the summer months with no leash. He likes to be in the lead and blaze the trail for us - crossing creeks and running up steep rocks with perfect ease. I’ve trained him to stop and wait if we are more than ten or fifteen feet behind him or if we are taking in the view of a mountain or steam, although he does protest with a couple of short barks or his well known wolf howl to get us moving again. I have included some photos from Christmas and our cabin. Hope you are well and thanks for breeding such an angel, he never ceases to give my husband and I lots of laughs, love and comfort. And when we got him, my husband said he wouldn’t be allowed on the bed. Well now he sleeps between our pillows or under our feet every night, but he’s not spoiled or anything! Ha ha. J He’s our little man and is truly special.

Sprightly LiL Lady Annabella "Flute" a pretty little sheltie pup out of Piper by Tempo who was sold to Sandy in SC as a companion for their other sheltie Zoey

Hi Helen, just wanted to send you an update on Annie (Flute)

We are so happy that we adopted her. She is a little sweetheart! Out of all the puppies we looked at she is the perfect addition to our family and a wonderful companion to our other sheltie pup “Zoey”. They absolutely love each other and have the best time playing together. Annie is so dainty. Usually when she picks up a toy (or my bras) she will pick it up by the tiny label and carry it around. Zoey is the dominant pup (more like a moose). Zoey is constantly going out the back to bark at the squirrels. Usually Annie will follow her but after about 5 times of running in and out Annie will just sit by the window and watch Zoey. Anyway, we love, love, love her and so happy she is a member of family!

Sandy

p.s. She is totally housebroken too….

Hi Helen, Annie is doing well. She is a very playful and loving sheltie. She can catch a ball in the air, and she has almost learned to catch a frisbee. She and Zoey play togeher outside for hours. They run like greyhounds!

Sandy

Hi Helen,
Here are a couple of pictures that I promised to send. Annie is a wonderful, sweet little sheltie. My husband and I adore her! When I registered her with AKC I wanted to come up with a name that fits her personality. “Sprightly LiL Lady Annabella” – (LITTLE LADY WITH BEAUTIFUL GRACE.) My youngest son, Jeremy, will be visiting us the end of the month from Texas and I am looking forward to him meeting her.
Sandy (photos below)

Your welcome, I have more to send but my husband was having problems downloading all of them so he just sent these 2. I went to your website to see if you put these pictures in yet and I was so happy to see her puppy pictures included. Yes, I sat here at my desk and cried! I love your website and look at all the dogs on a weekly basis. It’s relaxing and enjoyable therapy! Your new puppies are adorable!

Sprightly's High Fly'N Danny "Dandy" a pretty little 6 month old 12.5" sheltie pup who was sold to an agility home in MO

I took Dandy with me when I picked my little girl up from school. When she got in the car he set on her lap and started giving her kisses. I loved it. So did my daughter. That is just what she needed. My shelties our Mama's kids. So I hope they bond really well. She said he is so cute and tiny.

Dandy, (we call him Danny) is adjusting really well here. Plays well with my other dogs. Sleeps with my daughter and is just adorable. We love him a lot.
Connie

Danny is doing wonderful. I have some pictures but have not had them developed as of yet. We have had a lot of snow, ice and rain this winter so haven't done alot on the agility equipment. I will be so glad when all this stuff is gone. My husband has a Lab puppy and Danny just loves her. The puppy has learned to go up the stairs, so she goes up looking for Danny. It is so cute. We take Danny to trials with us and he just watch's the dogs run. We love him to pieces. My husband thinks Danny does no wrong.

Have a great Easter!

Connie

Hi Helen I have included a picture of Danny. Danny is doing just great! We just love him. I wish I had 5 more just like him. He is the sweetest little guy. Loves everybody and every dog. He loves agility. I was just on your website yesterday. I check it often. Danny loves to be held and I like that. - Connie (photo below)

Hi Helen
I do have some pictures but are still in the camera. He is doing great. We just love him so much. He has such a sweet personality. Loves everybody and dog. :-) I think he is going to be a great little agility dog. Take care.

Sprightly Royal Fanfare "Lyric" a small 7 month old 12.5" sheltie pup who was sold to Eileen in British Columbia

Hi Helen,

This morning we are at the office with Lyric - what an incredible little dog she is (as you know). We all just adore her - she is so happy, and lively, and full of energy and Sheltie Traits - she is sensitive, alert, intelligent, outgoing, lively - we are just so delighted with her.

This morning various clients have come in the door - she hasn't barked, she's been quite content either cuddling on my lap, chewing a bone, lying on her "dog bed" or curling up under Jim's desk.

We continue to be amazed at how incredibly well she has adjusted - flying across the country, taking a ferry, meeting new people, new dogs, new cats, guineau pigs, a different house, yard, climate etc. etc. The thought of another original sized Sheltie crosses my mind - did you mention that down the road you may be parting with another one? We are so happy with Lyric - down the road I can see looking into getting another of these dogs - if our circumstances change - if something happens to Ocean(our border collie), or if we win the lottery, or if Bella (the dachshund)and Jenn (my daughter) move out.

Thanks again for doing such a fabulous job raising/training/loving Lyric - we just enjoy her immensely.

Take care. Talk soon.

Kindest Regards

Eileen

Hi Helen,

Just a short update to let you know that Mmme. Lyric is still doing well - she is our official office mascot right now - clients can hardly believe it - she doesn't bark at them when they come through the door. What a sweet dog she is, so happy, so affectionate, so lively - we just adore her. Right now she is having a little snooze on the dog bed by my desk. Playing with Bella is a big thing with her - they run and frolic and prance all around the house and the yard - she likes to "herd" Bella still. What an agile willing dog she is - going to the beach with her is such fun - she hops up and down off the logs - very nimble.

Hope all is well with you and your fabulous dogs.

Eileen(photo below)

7 months

Ms. Lyric continues to be her usual captivating self - I think I'll need to put a door alarm on our office and something on her - too many people that come in the office want to take her home with them!!!!!! We are still delighted with her - what an incredibly agile, sweet, happy, and intelligent dog, all in a very portable size.

Take care. Talk soon.

Kindest Regards

Eileen

Lyric is just a fabulous dog - so lively, and happy, inquisitve, alert, and obedient - we all just adore her. Such an intuitive little dog - Bella had a skin rash and we had to take her to the vet on Saturday - she needed antihistamines and was sleepy after - instead of runing around as they usually do Bella cuddled up on the loveseat with me - Lyric joined her , snuggled in and slept beside her - she just seemed to know that Bella was not quite herself. We are at the office today - we've had 3 clients come in that wanted to take Lyric home - I think she is now our office mascot!!!!!

Lyric continues to be her usual captivating self. We went to SharKare on the -weekend to get some wood stove pellets and more Go dog food - the staff there were just so taken with her - they had never seen a small "original sized" Sheltie. What an amazing dog she is - so happy, full of confidence, energetic, affectionate, and so demonstrative of Sheltie traits my other Shelties have had. Heather used to tuck her paws under herself when she was lying down - Ms. Lyric does the same. Out in the yard she tries to "herd" the others and throws in the odd Sheltie spin. On Saturday we had a nice walk on the estuary with all the doglets - Lyric was fascinated with the ducks and the Canada Geese. Helen, we just adore her - we are so happy that you chose us to be her new owners.

Hi Helen,

A note to let you know that Mme. Lyric is doing incredibly well. What an absolutely wonderful, happy, energetic, lively, and intuitive dog she is - (did we mention that we adore her!!!!!) On the weekend we were visiting a friend who has a very senior dog and 3 cats - Lyric was very gentle with Tim, the old dog, and kept a respectful space from the 3 cats. Carol my friend was very sad - some issues with her adult daughter - Lyric hopped up on the couch and cuddled in Carol's lap - one wonders if she sensed that Carol would benefit from a snuggly loving dog. Lyric really enjoy walking on the beach and walking on the logs - come summer when we go in the water we'll invite her in - Lassie used to come swimming with us, and Heather liked to wade in a bit - we'll see what Lyric likes.

Hope your flu bug is better. Trust all your other wonderful doglets are well.

Kindest regards

Eileen

Hi Helen,
A quick update to let you know that LYRIC IS WONDERFUL - we are all enjoying her immensely - she is such a terrific dog - intelligent, happy, lively, athletic, affectionate, we are so delighted with her. Lyric is the first Sheltie I have had that has white toe nails - makes it so easy to see to trim them a bit. Hope all is well with you. How are your other doglets doing? How old are Mariel and Joy now? Have your long awaited pups arrived?
Take care.
Kindest regards
Eileen

Hi Helen,
Finally, here are a few pictures of Ms. Lyric - she has settled in well and we are just captivated by her. Such a wonderful sheltie - alert, playful, happy, energetic, healthy, and full of life. We have some really cute beach and log photos of her - we'll send them after tax time, in a few weeks. Agility classes are starting in Parksville mid May so we are signing Lyric up. How are your other dogs doing? The puppies on your website are gorgeous. Take care. Hope all is well with you.
Kindest regards
Eileen
p.s. your envelope with tags arrived - thank you!!!!!!!(photos below)

10 months old

Lyric is just wonderful - she is a much loved part of our family. She is a very busy dog - running on the beach, going for walks, helping us put sheds up and doing lots of gardening. The dogs are such a joy - so incredibly charming, lively, happy and interested. While we were putting this little shed up Lyric was right in there helping - if she'd been able to ratchet the parts down she would have - they are both fabulous dogs. Lyric certainly loves to fetch balls, toys etc. We are having 35 people this weekend for Jim's family reunion so they will get to meet lots of new faces. Oh, I've been so bad - still haven't sent pictures - soon, soon, soon!!!!!! Thanks for getting papers/records/tags ready for Harmony. Kindest Regards Eileen

More photos and updates on Lyric are at the bottom of the page along with "Harmony"

Pine Quest's Prime Time "Tempo" was adopted by a wonderful family with a 6 month old on a farm in SC. He now trains/competes in flyball and agility. He has lots of goats to herd, and English Shepherds to play with.

Hi Helen,

We went ahead and took Tempo to a tournament for the exposure. We left him crated with our team’s dogs most of the day. In the middle of the afternoon I brought him out to sit ringside with me while I worked the stats table. He started nosing at the pocket of Leann (one of our teammates) that was working the table with me. He was looking for treats. Then he started greeting people that walked up to the table…even bouncing up and down at some strangers like he knew them. He was calm as could be and alert. We had a family staying with us that is on our team from out of town. They brought two of their BCs, a mini-Aussie and a Pom. He wasn’t even phased at new dogs in the house. Last night he was even playing with a tug toy. We’re really enjoying him!

We should see Fly in a couple of weeks at the tournament in Florence. She's a beauty. Tempo is doing great! I've meant to drop you a line so many times. He has really come out of his shell. He's comfortable when people come over. Not as reserved as he was. He bonded to one of our English Shepherds (Skylar) and she really brought him out. She plays with him and treats him like he's a big dog. His confidence has shot through the roof. He goes to work with Michael sometimes. We've taken him to a goat show. He travels well. He is now buddying up to one of our new Anatolian Shepherds. He's a hoot!

Sprightly's Im A Carolina Girl RN "Fantasia" was adopted by Erin in NC who also adopted "Fly". Erin renamed Fantasia "Sprite". Go to Sprightlyshelties.com/Fantasia.html to see her page.

Hi Helen - She is doing very well here. She thinks the outside is great and loves to hop through the grass and play with Fly. Fly is now starting to learn that she has to be more gentle with her. She definately only has two speeds right now, wide open and asleep. She isn't sure she likes the crate but she does better when I put Fly next to her so she has some company. She is doing well so far with the house training, only one accident in the house. Of course I have to take her out all the time but I think she will catch on quick.

Helen - We decided on calling her Sprite and making her registered name Sprightly's Im A Carolina Girl since she was born in SC and is now living in NC lol. She has become quite the little pistol. She thinks she owns the place and has a well developed voice about everything she disagrees about. I haven't started much training with her yet other then tug training for flyball since she just naturally enjoys that. Im just waiting for her to get a little more of an attention span on her. Fly is getting along great with her for the most part, I did make her take a 4.5 hr car trip in the same crate with Sprite to VA this weekend for a flyball tournament, she was not thrilled about that but got over it. Sprite did well at the tournament. She loved to meet all the new people and dogs and wasn't scared with the noise or anything. Another lady on the team just got a McNab Shepherd that is one day older then Sprite so they played quite a bit. Will be nice to have one her age to play with! - Erin

Hi Helen - Just wanted to give you an update on Sprite. She is doing very well. She thinks she is just one of the others, when we get home and open the door she will run out and and bark in circles like the others, she doesn't know she is the smallest. She has learned sit and has almost learned down, I will be enrolling her in a puppy class soon. I think she is going to be very smart. Her and Fly love each other. Fly likes to "mop" the floor with her. She gets her pinned on her back then drags her across the floor. They are very funny together, it is a monkey see monkey do relationship (although some of it is bad habits!). I will give you some more updates and a picture soon of her. She is growing and is about 5 lbs now but still pretty petite. - Erin

Hi Helen - Just wanted to give you an update on little Sprite. She is doing well, we are working alot on our obiedience and flyball tugging. She loves to tug and is a little bullet, I hope she stays that motivated! She will start her first puppy classes next week. I think she is ready, shes a crazy little thing. I think she is about 6 lbs or so now, wasn't sure how that measured up with the pups that you still have. Her ears are just starting to go perk, the right is still a little tipped but it will be up there shortly, it makes her look so funny because they are gigantic compared to the rest of her body. Her and Fly absolutely love each other, they are best buds, or should I say partners in crime. She is still a little timid around new big dogs but I think that will go away with them once she gets a little bigger! Im going to try to take some current pictures and send them your way. I also did switch to a higher protein food of the Timberwolf for Fly and the puppy, Fly seems to be gaining some more muscle and getting a little more hair, she is just so active she is a tough one to keep the weight on! - Erin

I really like her, she is a great all around dog. She is very social and loves cuddling and being close but also loves to work and is super smart so I do think it was a good dam/sire pair! - Erin

Hi Helen - I hope everything is going well with you. Sprite is doing great. She is still in her obiedience class and the instructors are in love with her! They think she is just the greatest. I absolutely love her. I think it was a great cross. She has the drive that I wanted and that Fly has but she is also such a cuddle bug. She loves to be held and cuddled, where Fly hates that lol! We measured her at the last flyball tournament and she was somewhere (unofficially) btw 11.5-12 inches and at her last vet appt she was 9.5 lbs. I will try to get some more updated pictures of her. Thanks again, I just love her! - Erin

Here are just few pictures of the girls.

Hi Helen -
Just wanted to give you an update on the girls. We went to a rally trial this weekend and Fly received 2 legs towards her RA title and Sprite went in her first time and got a 96 and received 1 leg towards her RN. They are just smart little girls. I get comments on them all the time! Hope the puppies are well.

Sprite is in rally class right now and has 2 legs towards her RN, as soon as we can find a trial she wil finish that and start on her RA, I think she will be quick to earn them. The obiedence trainer thinks she is going to be a better obiedence dog then Fly, just a little more focused on me, so I think after we earn all the rally titles I will go for her CD and CDX. So far she has almost learned the whole pattern in flyball just needs to learn to keep the ball in her mouth over the jumps, then she will be ready to race, I think she is a little over 12 inches like maybe 12 3/4? She doesn't like to be measured! They are both great dogs but can both be little terrors at times! Here are some pictures of both the girls, I haven't had any professional pictures done of Sprite but as soon as I do I will send them too you. Hope all your shelties are doing well! I will definately keep you updated on their progress. They are such great dogs and I get lots of compliments on them all the time. They are just what I wanted! - Erin (photo below)

Hi Helen - Just thought I would give you an update on the girls! I was e-mailing to tell you about their rally trial over labor day. It was the big series show they do at the fairgrounds here, with all the differnet kennel clubs, they do conformation, rally and obiedience so there is alot going on in the building! Well Sprite finished her title in Novice B on Sunday with a 93. Then she moved up to Advanced B on Monday and won her class with a 98. Fly just did Monday because I wasn't sure how she would do in the noisy building. But she did great and also received a first with a 98 in her Excellent A class. I was so proud of the girls. I just received their pictures in the mail so I will have to send you them when I get them scanned in. I had many compliments on them! I am planning on finishing out their titles at the sheltie speciality show in Novemeber. - Erin

Sprite at the Can/Am nationals

Hi Helen - Did you have the puppies yet? I saw on the website the were due yesterday. Just wanted to update you on the girls. A couple weekends ago the girls finished more of their titles at the sheltie speciality. Sprite finished her RA and Fly finished her RE. Fly also got her FM this weekend at the flyball tournament. We are also going to start doing some showing in agility with Fly, we still have some work to do with contacts but I think it will be fun to just get out there. I also had just a random question for you. Sprite has been having some ear infections in her right ear and has had some medications and such put in them but recently her right ear has started to tip. I think it is cute but didn't know if this is due to the medication or if you have ever heard of their ears starting to tip at an older age? - Erin

Helen - The guy said that they both have great drive, so it must run in the family. I was very proud of them and they really seemed to enjoy it. So nice to see them work and an instinct to come out. Here is Sprite's video (you can hear Fly barking in the background ;-) ). I have also included the website where there are several pictures of them. There are just a couple, but they are right after the red/white bc and the only shelties. The big tri mix is also mine, I think you saw him when I came to get Sprite. I love to try everything with them because they are such versitile little dogs, they can really do everything and are happy to do it. I am even considering getting Sprite into tracking and trying to go for her AKC Versitility title! But that is a little bit down the road, I can only do so much! I want to do it all but you run out of money and weekends! - Erin

Sprightly Bright And Beautiful "Harmony" was adopted by Eileen in B.C. who also adopted "Lyric".

Hi Helen, As you know Harmony is home safe and sound. Such an adaptable dog so far - amazing - she got through all her travels for the day - such an incredible journey - planes, cars, ferries, then more cars - the ferry ride was 2 hours - she still wasn't ready to hit the Ladies Room when we arrived in Duke point though. Once we got to Parksville I threw a ball for the other two to wear off some energy, took them for a short walk, then met up with Jim and Harmony on the beach - we walked as a group for a while, then came in the yard - after a bit they were all "leashless" - then it was finally bathroom time for Harmony - what a long time to wait !!!!!!.(Instead of buns of steel, she must have an excretory system of steel!!!!) Don't know for sure if Harmony and Lyric remembered each other - they were interested in each other, sniffed, and enjoying racing around the yard, doing circuits around the kitchen, and tugging on a double ended tennis ball-rope. Last night at bed time Harmony slept in her house, Lyric on the bed, and Ocean at the foot of the bed - all was peaceful!!!!! This afternoon I am in to work for an hour or so and Harmony is accompanying me - she seems relaxed in the car and just cuddles contently on my lap.

We will keep all the dogs extremely busy for a while - lots of walks, log jumps, ball throwing etc. - they will all adjust just fine I'm sure. Harmony seems a delightful girl - smart, healthy, and energetic.

We've taken several pictures - I'll see if Jim can load them in the next while and we'll send them off.

Ms. Harmony is snoozing away under my desk right now - between the travel and all the exercise and adapting to a new family/different climate etc. she is probably ready to catch her breath for a minute.

Thanks for calling last night - appreciate all the info about Harmony - and was enjoyable chatting with you. Helen, you do a fabulous job with your dogs!!!!!

Take care. Talk soon.

Kindest Regards

Eileen

Hi Helen,
What a lovely day we all had. Lyric and Harmony and Ocean were very busy dogs today - oodles of walks, jumping on and over logs on the beach, and they all helped me garden - Lyric picked up the gardening gloves, then Harmony joined in tugging at the other end - they were just a riot to watch with the double ended tennis ball - such happy, lively girls - we threw a gazillion balls today and they both kept very busy - what delightful happy, lively, healthy dogs they are. Come about 10:00 p.m. tonight they were tired.
Eileen

Hi Helen,
Just wanted to let you know that Harmony continues to do really well - such a delightful dog - she and Ms. Lyric are just a riot to watch - so happy, so playful!!!!!! Harmony is very loving and affectionate - she still hops up on a lap when she wants a cuddle, she gives lots of kisses and for now, seems to like keeping humans in her sight. Going in the car goes smoothly with her. Milo, the cat, is learning his manners again - he hasn't swiped at her. Such an adaptable dog - she is amazing. For the first week or two the new dog goes everywhere we go - Harmony is equally happy at the office, or home, or Buckerfield's, or wherever. This weekend will be a little visit to a friend's house - she can meet Carol, and Tim, the old dog. Harmony of course is perfectly housetrained, she is Ok to sleep in the kennel at night, so all seems well so far. Meal time she is very happy to work away at the groceries - we are keeping her food supply as you suggested.
Hope all is well with you, and with your other dogs.
Kindest Regards
Eileen

Things are still going well - one difference we've noticed is the TV watching thing - last night we finally watched The Dog Whisperer (we've chosen to be deprived for a week or so) Lyric as always was just "glued" to the TV set - watching, occasionally talking - Harmony was in Jim's lap and was not at all interested - she didn't look at the TV - she just watched Lyric. One cute little trait Harmony has is that of listening attentively - she cocks her head when you talk to her - she is so sweet and looks so attentive - it is like she is saying "Is that so? Tell me more.....What do you mean by that?" Our neighbours (with the rescued golden retriever) just love our new dogs - now they are saying they'll take both of them!!!! Talk soon. Eileen

What wonderful doglets Helen - we are enjoying them immensely - they are both so smart and happy, active, loving, playful and affectionate - they are fabulous!!!! This will get a chuckle from you - Jim thought we should leave the door to Harmony's house open last night - that way she could choose where she slept - surprise, surprise, she thought hopping on the bed beside Lyric would be a nice place to be. Lyric is a gem - last night the cat was lying on a bathmat by the kitchen sink - purring away - Ms. Lyric was rubbing noses with her and all was well. Both dogs enjoy everything - aside from walking, and log jumping they have been helping garden lots, and last night they helped paint - they were my moral support as I finished painting a hallway - amazing - they lay contentedly by the ladder, didn't come near the paint - smart girls!!!! In the next week or two we hope to take them out in our kayaks - we'll get them used to the water first, then try taking them for a short kayak ride and see how it goes. We went for several long walks this weekend - along the estuary and along the beach - these dogs are so well trained - what a fabulous job you have done with them. How are all your other wonderful dogs? Kindest Regards - Eileen

Hi Helen, A short note to let you know that Ms. Harmony is managing well - so many changes for a dog - she is wonderful!!!!! So far she seems happy, active, affectionate, sweet, and fetches things with glee. Lyric and Harmony play together very enthusiastically. What fabulous dogs - energetic, affectionate, and full of joy. Walking on the beach with them is a real treat - they thoroughly enjoy jumping up and down and "log walking" - the weather here has been rotten lately - rain, rain, and more rain. When it improves we will take them out kayaking (or try) - depends on if they are willing to stay still - I"ll let you know. Hope all is well with you and your dogs. Kindest Regards, Eileen

Harmony is just wonderful - she is a much loved part of our family. She has been a very busy dog - running on the beach, going for walks, helping us put sheds up and doing lots of gardening. The dogs are such a joy - so incredibly charming, lively, happy and interested. While we were putting this little shed up Harmony watched for a while, then decided she'd dig out a little hole and lie in the cool earth - she is a fabulous dog. Harmony certainly loves to fetch balls, toys etc. We are having 35 people this weekend for Jim's family reunion so she will get to meet lots of new faces. Oh, I've been so bad - still haven't sent pictures - soon, soon, soon!!!!!! Thanks for getting papers/records/tags ready for Harmony. Kindest Regards Eileen

Both Harmony and Lyric are doing well - we had a family reunion at our place - the dogs had a great time - lots of people to throw balls, pet them, go for walks on the beach etc. What wonderful dogs they are. Last night they went for their first short kayak ride with me. Hope all is well with you and your other wonderful doglets. Take care. Talk soon.

Kindest Regards
Eileen

Hi Helen,
Just a quick note to let you know that Ms. Lyric and Harmony are doing well - what wonderful Shelties they are - so happy, affectionate, lively, intelligent, and quick. Today is their birthday so they are going to celebrate with an extra dog bone and a kayak ride!!!!! We've had a family reunion and party for Jim's Mom at our place - we had about 30 extra people around for a week or so - the dogs were such goodwill ambassadors - lots of tail wagging, extra ball fetching and petting - there were way too many people that wanted to take them home - one of these days someone will start breeding these wonderful little dogs in Canada - they are such a good size - so portable!!!!!!!!!
Hope all is well with you and your other dogs.
Kindest Regards
Eileen

Hi Helen Lyric and Harmony are doing well - they are both such happy, lively, alert, healthy and intelligent dogs - we just adore them!!!!!! Lyric has been busy growing a thicker winter coat, whereas Harmony has been busy shedding hers - she looks so different with her undercoat gone - it is so soft if one knew how to spin wool they could make a beautiful sweater from her!!!!! Lately the dogs have been coming out in the kayaks with us - they are quite content to gaze at the ocean as we paddle away. Jim has a new computer so once he gets new programs set up, data transferred etc. we'll finally send you some pictures. Probably you'll believe it when you see it - we have been way too long threatening to send pictures. Now that the nights are getting darker earlier the dogs like to cuddle on their dog beds with the cat - they are such happy, adaptable little dogs. Thanks again for raising such wonderful dogs!!!!! We enjoy them immensely. Hope all is well with you and your other dogs. Kindest Regards Eileen

Hi Helen, Finally here are a few pictures of Lyric and Harmony - in the first few they are having a little scamper on the beach, in the others they are in the yard - not the greatest ictures but you can see their cute little Sheltie faces - what wonderful dogs. The two black dogs (other than Ocean) belong to friends of ours - their names are Reggie and Stanley - they are part basset hound and part lab - they are very sweet boys - one came from a shelter in Fort St. John via petfinder, and the other came from a place in Victoria. Bob affectionately calls them "Bassadors". How is Mariel doing? Harmony looks so thin without her thick undercoat - Bonnie still busy growing her undercoat . Hope all is well with you. Kindest Regards Eileen (photos below)

The "girls" are doing well - Harmony continues to cock her head and listen attentively - what a doll - Ms. Lyric is her usual happy self - just full of joy - she wiggles and waggles. Both of them are such wonderful, happy, contented, lively, and beautiful little doglets - we enjoy them immensely. Now that the nights are longer they (and I) are inside more at night - they use the kitchen/living room/hallway as their Sheltie Nascar circuit - I throw the ball around the corner, they go and retrieve it and continue on through the rooms. Ocean, (the border collie that was my sister's) is slowing down - she likes the little dogs and they wisely give her the space she wants - they can tell she is not into playing/tug of war etc.
Hope all is well with you.
Kindest Regards
Eileen

Hi Helen,
Just wanted to let you know all the girls are doing well - Harmony has settled right in - she still does her cute little head cocking, as if she is listening so attentively. Ms. Lyric continues to be just a charmer, such a happy, wiggly, waggly little dog - we just enjoy all the dogs so much, they add a lot of joy to our lives.
Hope all is well with you.
Kindest Regards
Eileen

Hi Helen, Thanks for your note - not to worry about replying quickly - I know life can just get very busy. The pups of course look adorable - all the dogs do. There is something I find so special about Mariel - glad to hear she is her usual self. Good for Melody being such an experienced capable Mom - that must have been such a surprise to come home and find your had new pups. Presto looks gorgeous - I'm sure the Presto/Music pups will be stunning. Lyric and Harmony are fabulous - they will be the travelling dogs at xmas - we will be taking them over to Jenn's with us for xmas Eve, then taking the ferry back home the following day for Jim's family to come up for a visit - it's been a while since they've had a ferry ride....they will be their usual well travelled selves. Take care. Kindest Regards Eileen

"Brio" was adopted by Sonja in NJ. He was renamed Rambo. Go to Sprightlyshelties.com/Brio.html to see his page.

Hi! I just wanted to let you know I picked up Brio earlier today and he is doing great! I took him and Filippo (My other sheltie) for a nice long walk and he loved it! I also took him to the park where he laid on the grass and just relaxed. In the apt. he is very playful with all his toys and is such a happy baby =) Right now he's sleeping in his crate--he's totally worn out. Anyway, thanks for breeding such a wonderful dog and I will send you pictures when I take some. The only ones I took so far are from my cell phone. Thanks again! Sonja

I attached a photo of Brio sleeping on the couch today. I had him and Filippo at the park for about an hour and a half and then after a brief nap we took them out again for a nice walk down by the pier (which is on the Hudson River which separates NJ from NYC--so it's a really nice view). Lots of people take their dogs for walks there. When we got back he was kind of sleepy so I had him come on the couch with us and he just passed out and slept for about 2hrs. He is so great and calm. He will let you hold him and snuggle him for as long as you want to. He's so loving and gentle.
Thanks again for everything =)
Sonja (photo below)

Hi,
He's doing wonderful...he's definitely a brave little one. Andrew jokes that he needs to be on suicide watch because he is so daring. i.e.--He jumped right off his mom's front porch into the bushes (only about 2ft high), and when I ran over to rescue him he walked out like that's what he intended to do. He's really hysterical and the two of them are getting along great. They play fight in his bed and chase each other around. We actually just got back from about a 3hr. walk. We were at the dog park for about and hour and half and then just walked around town, got lunch outside...he sat by our table and was very well-behaved. He loves getting attention from the people passing by.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Sonja

Brio is doing great! We already love him like crazy. Filippo and him are best buddies. They snuggle together in the bed and share bones...they're just the best. I'm so happy we have him. Anyway, I didn't get a chance to register him yet but now that the stress has died down I'll do it ASAP. Hope all is well with you. Thanks =) Sonja

Hi Helen,
Attached are two relatively recent photos of Rambo. We decided to change his name because he's likes to "ram" into the walls so the name was fitting. He's doing great he and Filippo get along so well and are inseparable. They love to run at the park (Rambo learned to play fetch from watching Filippo) and snuggling on the couch. He is really wonderful and I'm so happy we have him =) Thanks again and I hope all is well! Sonja(photos below)

Hi Helen, She is wonderful. Just last week she had her yearly check-up and she weighs 11.5 lbs and is very lively. She and her "sister" are great friends, and I love them dearly. No pictures on the net, but will keep you in mind should I come into the 21st century. Peg

Hi Helen,
Daisy is doing great. She is such a playful, friendly, active, well-behaved girl. She is sooo pretty. I just had her spayed last Tuesday. She loves to run around yard herding imaginary "sheep". Our yard is almost 1 acre and all fenced so she has lots of room to run. Her favorite activity is to sit on our front porch and watch the world go by. She is very good and knows never to go out of the gate at the driveway. I have been thinking about getting another sheltie to play with her. She is always so happy to meet other dogs, not a mean bone in her body! Could you let me know when Melody's next litter comes? I have attached photos.

Thanks
Angela

"Drummer Boy" was adopted by a couple in SC. He is now named Mulligan. Go to Sprightlyshelties.com/Drummerboy.html to see his page.

Hi, Drummer Boy is now Mulligan - Ted has some difficulty with pronouncing R's, so we changed it - but it seems to suit his personality. He has a great personality and we love him! Unfortunately we found a good home for the rescue sheltie that I was rehabing, and she was Mulligan's best friend. If she doesn't work out at her forever home, we are bringing her back here to Mully permanently. I have included a couple of photos of Amber (the rescue) and Mulligan - they were together all the time - they even chewed off of opposite ends of the same chew stick! Josie still keeps her distance from Mulligan, but occationally we see some signs of her coming around - they have been caught actually chasing each other a time or two. Josie's not mean to him, but hates not being the only focus - she's kinda in the tolerating stage. It doesn't help that Mulligan nips her legs when she comes over to us - trying to round Josie away from us.. Most of the time they are fine. I'll keep sending you photos - he's going to be a really beautiful sheltie - this week I can see more of the longer hair and the black beginning to come in more. Darlene

Hi Helen,
I have some photos I'll send. I'll download them to the computer tomorrow. Mully is doing great!!! He was neutered in July and did fine. Ted said to just use the neutering credit we were due to help however you wish with your rescue service rather than refund it to us. Mully is just beautiful. He is about an inch taller than Josie now and weighs about 15 lbs. He has a black section on each side right behind his white collar. I'll measure and weigh him and send you the stats. We have started a new dog training video series with the dogs and they are doing pretty good. They now sit and wait until we ask them to come when we go through the front door. Ted took both of them for a ride on the golf cart today and he said they loved it. Mully definitely has the "prancing" genes - his walk is definitely a beautiful prance, much different than Josie. sometimes Mully goes with me and sometimes he stays home with Ted and Josie. Ted hates it when I take him!!!! I'll call you sometime when I am coming through Columbia and maybe you can meet me and see Mully. I think you agree he is absolutely a beautiful dog. His personality is so good. He sleeps in the bed with us every night. Ted just bought a new Prius so he could have a car that would keep inside air no warmer than outside air so they could go with us more if we are going to be out of the car for a short time. He also had an automatic ACR starter put on it so the AC would run for periods of 20 minutes at a time with the care locked - for instance if it is too warm outside and we want to take them with us to pick up groceries or other short trips. It will be helpful also when we are on the road so we can go inside to eat and keep them comfortable in the car. I swear that he bought this new car just for the dogs!!! I'm not kidding! I'll send the photos tomorrow. Thanks for letting us have Mully - we really love him bunches, and he's never mistreated in any way! I can promise you that he couldn't have a better home with more love and attention than he gets here!

Hi, Mully is sweet, loving, and can be a real cuddler (which I find unusual for Shelties). I'm going to start him on agility training after first of the year. We are using Don Sullivan's "Secrets to Training the Perfect Dog". His techniques work wonders, and quickly. Attached is file with current photos. Darlene

Sprightly Boots Of Snow "Solo" was adopted by a couple in OH. He was renamed Bootz. Go to Sprightlyshelties.com/Solo.html to see his page.

Hi Helen,
Just wanted you to know that Solo is doing fine. I was amazed at how well he was on the trip back...slept most of the way. His tummy was upset like you told me to expect...but today, he seems more energetic and hungry. The trip was hard on all 3 of us.
I did have a question.....do you moisten his food with water or does he just eat it dry. We have tried both but I wanted to continue what he is used to. Also, when you begin to train, what "treats" do you use...???
He is a joy and a welcome addition to our family. I can never replace Jax because he was so special, but I think this new puppy is helping the emptiness left in my heart from my loss. Solo is so cute and fun to watch and he is taking to us, and the kids think he is just as cute as can be. He got up at 530 this morning ready for food and play time and he has been going non stop ever since exploring his new world. He has even cried a few times when he wanted to go potty...which I think at his age is amazing. Were you working on housebreaking him already?
I will let you know about his new name within a week or so.
Thanks again...he is adorable and I'm looking forward to spoiling him rotten.
Tina

Hi Helen,
Pup is doing very well. He is 85% housebroken - I am thrilled with that.
It's like having a baby around again...we get up a few times a night to potty and then back to sleep. He sleeps in a big plastic tub beside my bed so when he needs to go outside, he will stand on the side....at first he cried to get out, but now he knows I care just sense him standing there waiting. He is an early riser and then likes a nap or two during the day....he is just adorable and we cherish him. Everyone just goes on about what a handsome pup he is. He has made lots of friends...and likes to explore the back yard. It is so big, he will only go in the "back forty" as we call it, if I go with him....he also enjoys spending time on our deck just playing with his toys.
I've attached a picture of him I took a few days ago.
We have not settled on a name yet. We have went over loads of names and nothing seems to fit. I like Bootz since all his little feet look like they have snow white boots on them. But I was trying out Taz....which family doesn't care for. We like Chewy...and he chews everything....haha...even us....so that totally fits except he isn't mexican....lol....So we are still searching for just the right name.
He loves exploring and we have been working on crate and leash training. He isn't fond of the kennel but I leave the door open and have all his toys in there so he is getting used to going in there to get things to play with or for a quick nap. One thing, he hates the vacum....I didn't know he was so scared of it, he went outside and hid in the corner. When I saw he was freaked out, I put it away and cuddled him til he fell asleep. It is so nice to have a four legged friend in the house again. We all missed that. If I leave for the store or an errand, he cries for me. And when I cry for Jax, he licks my tears. He is just what the doctor ordered for our hearts.
Thanks again. We just love him!
Tina (photo below)

That's excellent news. Congrats!! I was just telling our vets about you, puppy's parents and your champions! We had our first puppy vet visit...Everyone just fussed over him and he loved it.
We've settled on his name. - Sprightly Boots of Snow....and his call name is Sir Bootz Lancelot. He got his shots and some other meds he needed...no worms but he did have a parasite from what they say is common with well water or he could have picked it up somewhere. But he has been medicated and it should be gone now. He got some free heartworm and flea stuff and some free puppy food, training book, all kinds of cool stuff. It was "new puppy month"....we lucked out.
Bootz is doing great and loves to be outside. We are still working on housebreaking, leash training and crate training. Been doing a little training and he knows "sit" and "up" and we are working on stay. He is growing and can climb up stairs but he hasn't wanted to try going down them yet and that is good. We have alot of steps here...He is so active and loves to jump....it's like he has springs on his feet. But he has clipped his foot leg pretty good a few times and hurt it. He limps for a bit and usually by next morning it seems fine but I thought for sure he broke it first time it happened...scared me to death. I had the vet look at is and she said she thinks it's fine. We have alot of landscaping bricks and he keeps clipping it with his front leg. He is still the clumbsy puppy and just is having too much fun to be careful. Wink! He loves shoes for some reason...I even tried tying laces to his toys but it's the actual fun of dragging a real shoe around I guess....haha...
I've attached some pix for you...I tried to get some outside but he won't sit still long....He hasn't noticed our rabbits that live under the shed. By spring when she has her new litter, he will be chasing them all around the yard I'm sure. Jax had the best time doing that but they were always faster...he was relentless once he picked up their scent, but the rabbits were always smarter even though Jax would hide and wait by the spot where they would come out but they knew he was there....was funny. We have alot of wild life out here, even deer and that is one thing we love about living in this area...we are on protected land and live 1/2 block from the Darby Refuge...the trail to go into the woods and down to the Creek is right at the end of our street. Bootz and I will be exploring that soon since fall is upon us. We have become inseparable...I just love him....my little shadow. He has the cutest personality too...once the shyness passes, he is a little terror....we are having lots of fun together and my husband said...it didn't take me long to spoil him rotten.

11 weeks

Hi first mommy, I wanted to write and let you know how things are going here in Ohio. This week was HUGE week for me. I had my second vet visit yesterday for my shots and a check up. Dr. Paul says I am doing very well. I am getting so big. I weigh 9.5 pounds now and am getting taller and longer. Doc says he doesn't think I'll get any heavier than 15 pounds but that I doubled my weight since our last visit. I have to duck now to get under the coffee table and look up to my new mommy when we are just hanging out. I've been climbing up stairs for about a month but this week, I discovered that I can get down the steps all by myself and I can jump out of the recliner like a champ. Running is so fun and I run very fast. We play lots of games here, especially "get the ball"....I have red tennis balls and when mommy throws and rolls them around, I go get them and bring it back so she will do it again. We play that game along time because I never get tired of getting the ball. We also play laser tag alot. The red laser light is so fun to chase after but I can never get it. I get to go for car rides but I don't really like it because I want to sit on mommy's lap while she drives and she won't let me. The back yard is so big that it takes me forever to explore it. I want to go outside all the time to see if my dog friends are out. We go for lots of walks outfront and I will follow without my leash. I want to jump on the furniture but I don't know if I can make it. Mommys says I can do it but when I try, I can't seem to make it. Today, I got to eat some Apex and I really like it. I get to sleep in the bed with mommy and daddy and I love sleeping with them. I get lots of hugs and kisses and we all cuddle. Sometimes, Jeremy comes home and lets me sleep with him. He stays out alot but I really like him and when he is here, we play and hang out. I sent you a picture of me hanging out on the couch so you can see how big I'm getting. Say hello to Mommy and Daddy for me and tell them I am in a great home and looking forward to playing in lots of snow and chasing snowflakes. It snows alot here!
Love,
Bootz

Hi Helen, Boots just got his last set of shots and he is doing well at 10.5 pounds. He finally stopped his icky habit...wink....a puppy thing I guess. He is just a joy and we adore him. I've attached a great autumn picture of him. Everyone that sees him goes on about what a gourgeous dog he is. All the vet techs come in each time we go and love on him....he loves all people and animals...but especially girls....he just brightens the days for me again.... We are learning simple tricks right now. He knows sit, stay, shake, come, fetch the ball and he figured out he can jump up and down off the couch. He is so smart and a quick learner. I hope by spring, we can try the agility. He is such a "talker" and likes to "work" so it might be fun. Since I'm home all the time and he sleeps with us....we are inseparable.....he is definately spoiled rotten. Wink.... Take care and here's wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season. Helen,
We are having fun w/ playtime and our dogs and cats... The weather is cooling off, so they are really lively outside. We have decided on "Bourrée" for her name. Pronounced Boo-Ray... It is a ballet dance step that is very fast. She does that kind of thing all the time. Will send you some pix soon also! Looking forward to putting together her AKC name w/ you. Take care,
Eileen

We'll go w/ this... thank you for taking care of this! Sorry I haven't been in touch. I've had the flu. "Boo" has gained 2 lbs.... up to 6.4 lbs. She is up to date on her shots. Our Tish has really taken to her. They play very well together already. They are so much fun to watch. Let me know when to expect the paper. Take care,
Eileen

Sprightly Dancing Glee "Glee" was adopted by a couple in CO. Go to Sprightlyshelties.com/Glee.html to see her page.

Hi Helen, Glee continues to thrive--eating and playing and drinking. Seems to be very healthy and happy. She loves our grassy backyard. She slept in a bathroom with a child gate on the bottom. Squeaked for a few minutes and then slept through the night. Up around 7 am. She did do some barking today--when playing out in the yard with Claude, my husband.
Carolie

Glee's first day in Colorado. She looks amazingly good after flying all day from Columbia, South Carolina! Don't worry--I have 3 more videos and 70 more photos. Carolie and Claude p.s. she is settling in very well. Very healthy and playful.

She is a young lady part of the time, and still a wild puppy the rest. She still has her curiosity and spirit. She has really settled in to her home and yard--and has decided that newly retired people are just great--they can play with her and she is rarely alone. We start a beginning obedience class tomorrow night. You taught her so much about being flexible and adaptable, being affectionate, watching the face of her people. She is always hopping over things and running flat out--natural for agility. I am thinking I need to schedule her spay appointment mid December. Everyone who visits loves her. She runs around and acts like a 45 pound collie or border collie, but then she can be so sweet when she sits on your lap. You gave her such a good start. Between genetics and your training--it is hard to know what she already knows--and what she is just learning. Loves to play ball. Since we had two big snows in the fall, word is that the winter will be sunny and dry--perfect for Glee. She loves the sun. We had 70 degrees last week.
Regards, Carolie

Helen, Glee is growing up! Almost finished with beginning obedience class. We did one time session, puppy intro. to agility. She liked the tunnel. Was starting to get the hang of walking on the elevated board. She is always so poised and sweet. She took her first Christmas in stride, but she watched some of the festivities from the safety of our laps.

Helen, Just received your nice note. Would love to attend some agility trials and to meet the other shelties. Usually Glee is so active, but here are some shots in the morning when she takes her nap. She is a true sun worshiper. We rave about her to all of our friends--I think they are getting tired of Glee photos. Glad you are still interested. She is looking more like a little dog. Still very girly, but a tom boy at heart. Carolie

Wildwood's Little Man That Prances "Prancer" was adopted by a couple in OR. Go to Sprightlyshelties.com/Prancer.html to see his page.

Prancer is doing great, although he jumped our retaining wall yesterday and went for quite a run on our property and ended up clear down at out neighbors right at their door that looks like ours. I now put him on a leash to take him out. We went around the house, workshop, and talked about the retaining wall and not jumping it. He acted like he understood. He's quit the jumper. He such a good little thing. Thank-you so much Helen you did so well with him. Lets keep in touch, I've injoyed talking with you. Thank-you again, God Bless everything you put your hand to do, Mindy
